If you think all war stuff is boring this makes a pleasant
change. Eden Camp really was a prisoner of war camp.
There are loads of medals to look at but this is made really
interesting by the addition of amazing stories about how
they were achieved. Some of the prisoners handy-craft is
on display. What makes the handy-craft amazing is the
things they were made from - bomb shells and alike. A
simulated submarine section, a wooden fort and a form of
treasure hunt make Eden Camp interesting for children.

In the heart of Malton's Butter Market it is newly
refurbished and displays a permanent collection of Roman
artifacts. The "Wharram Percy" special exhibition holds
items from Medieval village life. There are also practical
activities for children such as corn grinding. |

early to mid June Ryedale Museum hosts a 'Countryside at
War' experience, turning the Museum into a wartime
village. Other events are held throughout the opening
