Captain Cook's Endeavour, the castle and a host of other things to see. Don't
forget to buy some Whitby Jet, you can even see it being carved. Twice a year
Whitby hosts a Goth weekend, incorporating the Dracula connection with
Whitby. The weekend has a musical theme but it is worth a visit just to see
those dressed in Goth costume (young and old). If you can get in, visit the
famous Magpie for a Fish & Chip lunch. |

There is a host of things to see in York (wear comfy shoes); the Minster,
city walls, the Shambles, Kings Manor, Merchant Taylor Building, Art Gallery
and museum as well as the Jorvik centre and York Dungeons.
You can do a Ghost tour - and York is famous for its ghosts, visit one of the
theatres/shows or just walk round the city visiting some of its many shops,

There are cycle tracks all around York. You can hire bikes of all sizes at a shop
in Monkbar (leaflet in the cottage). |

Miles of sandy beach to walk along, shops to visit and if you get bored there is
always the fun fair and the slot machines. Scarborough also has Haunted Walks
but we have no knowledge of the quality. |
